POSITION DESCRIPTION

Operate the wave soldering equipment, ensuring that flux and soldering material is properly applied, and products are kept up to quality standards. Assist with other manufacturing processes as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to

Set up, operate and maintain wave soldering equipment as per work instructions and maintenance schedule on time Control all wave soldering material (flux, solder bars etc.) as per work instructions to ensure proper application of flux and solder material. Undergo cross training as a selective wave operator, operate and maintain selective wave equipment. Perform cursory inspection on products as per quality standards to ensure workmanship standards are met Ensure full compliance with all applicable quality assurance standards and internal SOPs Provide assistance in FAI process Monitor and troubleshoot wave soldering process as required Assist in coordination of post wave inspection and product cleaning Assist in other manufacturing processes as needed Communicate and cooperate with post wave inspector on quality issues Communicate with Process Engineering on new project recipe set up and operation Maintain overall cleanliness of workstation Conduct daily maintenance on equipment Following safety, setup/assembly procedures Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience in wave soldering is preferred Experience in electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly an asset Previous experience working in the following are highly preferred (but not limited to): SMT/TH or Mix Tech assembly (hand soldering, inspection, rework, mechanical assembly skills); Worked in Electronics or Manufacturing companies; Soldering TH and SMT components; previous IPC training/ familiarity with IPC standards an asset High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Good computer literacy (Microsoft Office Applications, Windows OS, Machine specific software/programs). Ability to navigate computers across older/newer OS, ability to navigate programs to operate a machine Good written and verbal communication in business English. A team player with good communication skills (ability to work with customers, within a team) Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Able to safely work with solder, chemicals using proper personal protective equipment Must be able to work independently or in team environment Ability to read, comprehend, and follow assembly documentation, standard operating procedures, visual aids, etc. and perform tasks up to standard Awareness of safety protocols and ability to remain attentive to moving equipment and processes in a production environment.

Physical Demands

Controlled manufacturing environment Work is performed in sitting, standing, reaching and stooped positions. Standing for long periods of time in a manufacturing line doing repetitive tasks.

Repetitive hand motions

Job duties require working with and around chemicals and the use of applicable PPE will be required Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude Strong situational awareness of surroundings to ensure personal safety and prevent potential hazards in a manufacturing environment.

Color identification is a requirement of the role

Ability to safety lift up to 40 lbs

Other Details

Base pay range: $23 - $26, $2/hr shift premium if working the afternoon shift Work shift: Afternoon (3:30PM-12MN); site is transit accessible, but the buses run on a schedule Need to be legally eligible to work in British Columbia, Canada, full-time for any employer Background check applicable as pre-employment Possibility for regular employment based on strong performance and business need
