Current Rate of Pay: Min $35.93 - Max $41.37
Current Shifts: Primarily Days-8 hours
Position Summary:
Working within the Neurology Outpatient Clinic and GGH inpatient areas, the EEG Technologist provides high quality, safe, effective care in the administration of Electroencephalograph testing. Demonstrating GGH’s mission, vision, values and policies, the EEG technician optimizes the patient’s experience and care outcomes by:
- Being accountable for one’s decisions and professional practice;
- Establishing a therapeutic relationship with the patient and family;
- Collaborating with other members of the care team;
- Coordinating, communicating and documenting patient care activities.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- Graduate from a recognized program in Electroneurophysiology (2 year program)
- Certification from the Canadian (or American) Board of Registered Electrophysiology Technologists (CBRET).
- Membership with the Canadian Association of Electroneurophysiology Technologists (CAET)
- BLS certification
- Experience working within a neurophysiology environment/clinic
- Experience performing EEG testing on critical care patients
- Ability to properly obtain a current clinical neurological history from patients, educating the patient/family about the procedure, preparing the patient for the procedure, performing the procedure utilizing specialized computer and/or video/digital equipment, producing a detailed technical report and consulting with other health care professionals.
- Provides information, assistance or service in support of others – i.e., to collect, or process information or data for use by other jobs.
- Operate neuro-diagnostic equipment to aid in the patient's care, as well as maintaining the equipment in good working condition, which includes performing routine testing and troubleshooting
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner as well as collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service when interacting with patients, families, colleagues and physicians
- Good verbal, written and computer documentation/communication skills
- Demonstrates commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity and inclusion objectives
