About the role
Securiguardis seeking Security Dispatcher for healthcare facilities in Oshawa. As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for monitoring access control systems, fire protection systems, CCTV, and elevators and the safety of the building. You will be logging information, dispatching the security and building operations staff accordingly, conducting various audits and ensuring that security patrol duties are completed.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and prioritize incoming calls for security assistance, alarms, or emergencies.
- Dispatch security personnel to respond to incidents promptly, ensuring a timely and appropriate response.
- Maintain accurate records of all calls for service, including details of the incident, actions taken, and resolution outcomes.
- Serve as the central point of contact for communication between security personnel, healthcare staff, and external agencies.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as facilities management and clinical services, to address security concerns and coordinate responses to incidents.
- Monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems to detect and respond to security threats or breaches.
- Alert security personnel to any unusual or suspicious activity observed through surveillance systems.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of emergency response plans and procedures for various scenarios, such as fire alarms, medical emergencies, or security breaches.
- Coordinate with emergency responders, such as law enforcement and medical personnel, to ensure a coordinated and effective response to emergencies.
- Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities, including incident logs, dispatch logs, and communication logs.
- Generate reports summarizing dispatch activities, response times, and incident outcomes for management review.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid Security Guard License and CPR/First Aid
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Security Guard and 6 months experience as a control room operator/dispatcher preferably in a healthcare or security environment.
- Must be knowledgeable in various systems including but not limited to fire and life safety systems, CCTV, Access control systems, Intercom systems.
- Must be able to type min of 50wpm.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft office and excel.
- Must be able to MULTITASK in a FAST-PACED environment.
- Proficiency in using dispatch software and communication systems, such as two-way radios, telephone systems, and computer-aided dispatch software.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in dispatch operations or security management preferred.
Pay Rate: $22.82/hr
Schedule: FT Continental, 0700-1900
