About the role
Our Roll-Off Truck Drivers engage with customers daily on collection routes, and serving as the face of our Solid Waste Services branch of our company. As a Saskatchewan wide environmental services provider and employer, we are seeking an energetic individual who is looking for more than a typical truck driving role!
Position & Scope
The Roll-Off Truck Driver will be responsible for operating our class 3A units for the collection and transportation of containers from customer locations to one of many collection or disposal points within Saskatchewan. This position will require a high level of professionalism and dedication to customer service to consistently build positive customer experiences and develop relationships to promote Protex Environmental's service throughout Saskatchewan. As the position develops, the operator will be cross-trained in vacuum truck operation and dispatched accordingly as scheduling dictates.
Key Accountabilities
- Operation of Roll-Off truck as a full-time operator, (training on equipment can be provided)
- Operation of Vacuum Truck on a fill-in basis, dependent on scheduling
- Follow schedules and service orders in accordance with the Service Coordinators instructions
- Provide exceptional on-site service to customers and continuously promote Protex's service offerings
- Adherence to company, and customer, site safety policies and procedures.
- Complete service paperwork in accordance with Protex and TDG regulations
- Equipment maintenance, Container maintenance, buildings and facilities work.
- Safely operate all required transport equipment & ensure regular cleaning and maintenance of truck cab, components, and other assigned equipment
- Able to complete manual labour and lift 50lbs
- Participate in the Protex safety programs including: safety meetings, last minute risk assessments, and job hazard assessments.
Requirements
- Clean drivers abstract (Class 3A or 1A) is required.
- Able to work independently
- Customer service experience
- TDG knowledge and experience
- Experience working in a safety sensitive environment
- Ability to work out of town and overnight trips will be required for this position
- Experience with making drop-offs and pick-ups would be considered an asset
- Occasionally operate other collection equipment as required or scheduling allows

About Protex Environmental
Shkopich Enviro (o/a Protex Environmental) was originally founded as Lamon Disposal in 1972 by Terry and Beverly Lamon and operated as a salvage yard. In 1982, Lamon Disposal was awarded the contract to provide back alley solid waste collection in Meadow Lake. Front load and Roll off services were brought into service in 1986 which provided waste disposal solutions for local and rural areas of North West Saskatchewan. In the mid 1990's, the used oil/filter recovery program began, servicing Meadow Lake and surrounding areas. 1997 was an exciting year, Lamon Disposal was the first company in Saskatchewan to provide 100% curbside waste pick up services, with the Town of Meadow Lake being the first to take advantage of this great service!
As the company grew they also expanded into the Vac and Hydro-Vac industry in 2004 and in 2009, the Vac and Hydro-Vac portion of the business was purchased by Shkopich Enviro.
For Lamon Disposal, 2013 brought the introduction of the Single Stream Recycling division, this satisfied the growing customer and community demands for environmentally friendly recycling.
2015 was a momentous year with Lamon Disposal being purchased by Shkopich Enviro. In 2016, an on-site facility was built to better service the various types of recyclable and non-recyclable materials handled.
Today, Shkopich Enviro is rebranding as Protex Environmental and operates a fleet of over 40 units and the company is still growing. We are achieving our success through the effort and dedication of our employees, and with their commitment to provide good quality service and complete satisfaction to our customers.
