The Opportunity The System Design East (SDE) team is seeking an experienced engineer to support the Capacity Management department. This role is responsible for maintaining our GeoFind Hydraulic Database - a centralized repository of pipeline asset information used for hydraulic modeling of our Canadian gas transmission pipeline systems. Accuracy of the database is critical as a foundation to inform Commercial and Operational decision-making.
Reporting to the Manager, System Design East, the successful candidate will collaborate with engineering, operations and projects teams to ensure high-quality and validated data for accurate pipeline hydraulic simulations. This role requires knowledge of pipeline and associated facilities infrastructure, strong collaboration and communication skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
What You'll Do
- Maintain the GeoFind Hydraulic Database for Canadian gas pipeline systems, including data quality assurance and
validation

Advance data quality and process improvement initiatives to enhance or streamline updates to the database

Lead cross-functional engagement with engineering, operations, and projects teams to ensure timely and accurate updates to technical and geospatial data in the database

Collaborate with IS teams to ensure hydraulic data integrity, sustain web application functionality, and ensure reliable integration with hydraulic modeling software

Complete annual throughput data and pipeline statistics reporting for Canadian business units; represent TC Energy for third-party verification/audits to answer auditor questions, explain workflows and ensure regulatory compliance

Develop and maintain documentation required to support user onboarding, promote consistent operational practices, and enable effective knowledge transfer across team members for GeoFind hydraulic data management
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical preferred).
- Minimum 7 years of progressive, relevant experience (an alternate combination of education or experience may be considered).
- Knowledge of pipeline and facility infrastructure and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Registered, or eligible to be registered, as a P. Eng. (Professional Engineer) with APEGA in good standing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of TC Energy integrated Canadian gas pipeline systems and associated asset life cycles.
- Experience with gas pipeline hydraulic simulation.
- Familiarity with the structure and geographic footprint of the ATCO Pipelines system (due to integrated commercial service with NGTL).
- Understanding of the input and output data flow processes in the Gas Measurement System (GMS) and SCADA for meter stations and compressor stations.
- Business acumen with knowledge of system operations & maintenance, pipeline infrastructure and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated initiative in coordinating and contributing to process enhancements and innovation.
- Programming (e.g., Python, VBA, PowerBI) and/or data analytics (e.g., SQL) experience.
