*Please note this is a 15-month contract (Jan 2026 – April 2027) opportunity with 3 days a week on-site in our Waterloo office*

About the Role:

You are someone who enjoys both the build and deployment work of HR and the day-to-day tactical work that comes with a smaller HR team. In this role, you will work within the People & Culture team to implement best practices and will work to deliver trends analysis and optimization recommendations to our team. Possessing strong business acumen, you will align yourself as a partner to managers and as a right hand to the Chief People Officer to ensure continued employee engagement.

Specifically, you will:

  • Define, develop, plan, and deploy HR strategies to drive the achievement of strategic objectives
  • Partner with all levels of leadership and be a trusted advisor to leaders and managers to enable their teams
  • Provide coaching and guidance on a variety of issues, including employee engagement, performance management, career pathing, merit and bonus awards
  • Lead the recruitment process, from ascertaining resourcing needs of business partners to hiring approval, posting, and interview to offer payroll and benefits enrolment, onboarding, and orientation
  • Prepare and maintain key HR monthly, quarterly, and annual reports including, headcount, attrition, recruitment, compensation, or others
  • Drive a strong culture through the application of organizational development, coaching and business partnership with leadership
  • Manage employee engagement surveys, analyze, and report on data, and create action plans
  • Play a consultative role in employee communication for change initiatives within the organization
  • Act as the point of contact for third-party HR service providers and vendors

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of HR Generalist experience in roles of progressively increasing scope
  • Demonstrated knowledge in a range of HR areas, including employee relations, performance management, talent management, compensation, talent acquisition and regulatory compliance
  • Strong technical skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Nice to Haves:

  • CHRP or CHRL designation
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now
