Our Big Molly site near Glenevis (40 minutes northwest of Spruce Grove) is our regional Sand Processing Facility where we mine, wash and dry frac sand for direct shipment to our customers. We take pride in our product and value our employees while providing a close-knit, local place to work.
The Opportunity:
Wayfinder Corp is seeking a Geology Support Technician to provide hands-on support to our Geoscience team. This role is focused on lab support, geological data management, and field assistance. This role provides direct, day-to-day support for the Sr. Geologist.
This position is well suited for a new graduate or early-career geoscience professional who is highly organized, detail-driven, and comfortable with routine, process-based work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support in-house lab cleanliness, testing pit and exploration samples
- Organize sample storage and maintaining sample inventory
- Scan paper logs and enter data into internal database and excel sheets
- Purchase and organize field / lab supplies as required, maintaining detailed inventory records
- Establish and follow consistent routines to support efficient daily operations
- Setting up and troubleshooting equipment as needed
- Verifying testing data by running standardized testing
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Geoscience, Geology, Earth Sciences, or related discipline is preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and databases
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks requiring high attention to detail and quality control
- Able to work independently, follow procedures, and manage assigned responsibilities
- Commitment to safe work practices; valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean abstract
- Willingness to work outdoors in all seasons as required
- Strong organizational skills and disciplined approach to task completion
