About the role
IOC Optimization Specialist
This is a contract assignment located in our Oil and Gas client's Grande Prairie office, working a shift of 4 days on, 3 days off, 10 hour per day.
Responsibilities
Monitor, analyse, and optimize oil and gas well performance using real-time surveillance systems, production data, and advanced optimization tools. Support and execute artificial lift optimization strategies, including setpoint adjustments, cycle-time optimization, performance analysis, and troubleshooting of plunger lift, rod pump, and gas lift systems. Identify, evaluate, and prioritize artificial lift candidates to maximize production, improve operating efficiency, and enhance well economics. Collaborate with Production Engineers, Field Operations, Maintenance personnel, and Field Optimization teams to develop and implement production enhancement opportunities and artificial lift solutions. Foster strong working relationships with field personnel and engineering teams to identify, investigate, and resolve operational, maintenance, and production performance issues. Ensure optimization initiatives, well interventions, and key operational activities are properly documented, tracked, and communicated to stakeholders. Actively participate in Conventional Well Review processes, providing technical recommendations, production insights, and economic justification for optimization, maintenance, and capital projects. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members in areas of expertise while promoting knowledge sharing, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the organization.
Qualifications
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada Must have a valid Class 5 driver's license Technical diploma would be considered an asset. A minimum of a High School Diploma is required Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the oil & gas industry with experience in optimizing and operating artificial lift systems including plunger lift and rod pump. Strong understanding of SCADA systems and the other various devices that are situated within the IOC (Cygnet, XSPOC, etc.)
Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and TEAMS
Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and TEAMS Professional and effective verbal and written communication skills Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members in areas of expertise while promoting knowledge sharing, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the organization. Experience with plant and facility operations, monitoring and surveillance would be considered an asset
