Position: Permanent Part Time Security Guard

Site: Huron University

Site Address: 1349 Western Road, London, ON N6G 1H3

Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement – calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly

Hours: Sunday & Monday 00:00 – 08:00hrs

Payrate: $18.54/hr

Essential Job Function

  • Implement security measures to protect property, control access to sites and ensure client rules and regulations are followed
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Maintain written reports
  • Perform security checks and liaise with students, customers and the public
  • Ensure site safety and emergency procedures are followed and maintain written reports
  • Enforce compliance to company policies and procedure
  • First aid – be prepared to administer when required
  • Maintaining a positive, productive work environment through collaboration
  • Watch for and report irregularities by completing incident reports, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards and emergency situations; contact emergency responders, such as police, fire and/or ambulance personnel, as required.
  • Perform miscellaneous job–related duties as assigned

Please note, students currently enrolled at Huron University are not eligible to apply for this position

Prerequisites

  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • 3 Years of experience in security is required
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
