Senior Advisor, Data Insights and Social Impact
About the role
What you will do:
The Senior Advisor, Data Insights and Social Impact is responsible for leading Jumpstart’s impact measurement and data insights work, ensuring that high‑quality data, analysis, and research inform strategy, program development, and decision‑making. This role acts as a subject matter expert in social impact, outcomes measurement, and data‑driven learning, while building internal capacity to use insights effectively.
- Lead the development, enhancement, and ongoing administration of Jumpstart’s data collection and impact measurement approaches, including tools and frameworks related to social impact and outcomes measurement
- Provide subject matter expertise in data insights and social impact, aligning analytical work with organizational strategy and priorities related to access, inclusion, and skill development for children and youth
- Collaborate with program and cross‑functional teams to integrate data, research, and community insights into program design, delivery, and evaluation
- Analyze and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, outcomes, and opportunities for improvement across programs and initiatives
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear, compelling insights and narratives that support decision‑making by diverse internal audiences
- Share emerging research, sector trends, and best practices related to social impact, evaluation, and data use to support organizational learning and innovation
- Support the identification, stewardship, and evaluation of partners and enablers that contribute to advancing impact measurement, research, and data innovation
- Contribute to the achievement of organizational strategic and business objectives by providing data, insight, and capacity support across program areas as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
What you bring:
- University or college education in a related discipline (e.g., social sciences, data analytics, public policy, evaluation, or a related field)
- 3–5 years of experience in a charity, social impact, data analysis, research, or related role
- Demonstrated experience producing high‑quality analysis and insights to support organizational decision‑making
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to proactively identify opportunities for value‑added analysis and learning
- Ability to clearly communicate and “tell the story” behind data, trends, and findings for non‑technical audiences
- Results‑oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic, multi‑task environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for advancing equitable access to sport and recreation for children and youth
- Familiarity with Python or similar analytical programming languages for data analysis, automation, or reporting
- Experience using AI‑enabled tools (e.g., Copilot, Power BI AI features, or similar) to support data exploration, insight generation, and analysis
- Working knowledge of statistical concepts and methods, including descriptive statistics, basic inferential analysis, and survey or outcomes analysis
- Experience with data visualization or dashboarding tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
Our typical hiring range is between $53,000.00 - $88,000.00 CAD Annual. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements.
