Interim Senior AR Analyst
About the role
Senior Accounts Receivable Analyst
Employment Type: Contract (12 months) Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid — 2-3 days in office) Rate: $40–45/hr Industry: Consumer Technology — Smart Home / Energy Position Type: Backfill (Parental Leave)
About the Opportunity
Our client is a Toronto-based smart home technology company whose products are in millions of homes across North America. Backed by a publicly traded energy technology parent, the organization pairs the pace and culture of a consumer tech brand with the controls discipline of a larger enterprise — SOX compliance, approval matrices, and structured change management are part of daily life here.
This 12-month contract backfills a parental leave on a strong, established AR team. You'll own collections and the escalation process end to end — following up with customers, running reports, managing the AR subledger, and partnering with internal sales and e-commerce teams. The collections process is currently manual, with automation planned for next year, so you'll also have a hand in testing new systems and process improvement work, including opportunities to leverage AI.
Beyond collections, the role touches the full customer lifecycle in NetSuite — onboarding new customers, credit checks, pricing updates and approvals, and promotions setup with the digital team. You'll represent finance operations in cross-functional meetings, making this a genuinely visible seat for someone who wants more than transactional AR work.
Key Responsibilities
Manage collections and the collections escalation process, including manual follow-ups with customers and coordination with internal sales team members Run AR reports and maintain the AR subledger using Excel and NetSuite Work within NetSuite's customer, pricing, and promotions modules — managing EDI and manual customer setups, verifying pricing approvals, and configuring promotional pricing with the digital team Support onboarding of new customers, including credit checks, pricing updates, and SKU-level pricing changes Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations Manage amortization schedules and billing/credit processing for subscription services Partner with the commercial e-commerce team on marketing promotions Operate within a SOX-compliant control environment — approval matrices, change management hierarchy, and precise wording in customer communications Support testing of new systems and contribute to process improvement projects, including AI-enabled automation and product launch testing Represent finance operations in cross-functional meetings
What You Bring
Hands-on AR and collections experience, including escalation management and direct customer follow-up Working knowledge of NetSuite, particularly the customer module Strong Excel skills for reporting and subledger maintenance Experience with journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations Comfort operating in a compliance-heavy, SOX-controlled environment with formal approval processes Clear, professional written communication — customer-facing collections correspondence requires precision A collaborative working style — this role partners daily with sales, e-commerce, and digital teams
Nice to Have
OneStream or Blackline experience Exposure to subscription billing, amortization schedules, or credit processing EDI customer setup experience Prior involvement in system implementations or UAT
Next Steps
We do appreciate all interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Clarity Recruitment is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive and accessible recruitment process and workplace. If you require accommodation, please let us know in advance and we will work with you to meet your needs. Please note: We use AI-assisted tools for notetaking during the screening process.
