What you’ll do:

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in a full-time, permanent capacity. This position plays a key role in ensuring the functionality, safety, and presentation of all Discovery Co-op locations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Maintenance Team, other departments, contractors, and external partners to deliver exceptional maintenance support and legendary guest service.

  • Lead and perform daily maintenance activities across all Discovery Co-op locations, ensuring facilities are fully functional, presentable, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Respond to work orders and service requests promptly, prioritizing based on urgency, safety, and business needs.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on systems such as refrigeration, HVAC, fire suppression, and carwash facilities. Maintain accurate inspection logs and service records.
  • Oversee and maintain security systems including CCTV, FOB access, intrusion alarms, and emergency systems. Monitor performance, perform troubleshooting, and coordinate repairs or upgrades.
  • Support Management by performing supervisory tasks in accordance with Discovery Co-op policies and procedures to promote a positive work environment, team growth/development, and facilitate team member engagement.
  • Support asset protection efforts, ensuring physical security measures and loss prevention protocols are maintained.
  • Promote a safe work culture by ensuring adherence to all safety regulations, housekeeping standards, and emergency response procedures.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies and equipment as needed, and maintaining proper tool and equipment storage.
  • To come to work to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude.
  • To ensure outstanding and courteous guest service is provided at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Retail Maintenance and:

  • Journeyman certification in electrical or plumbing is required.
  • 1+ years of experience as a journeyman electrician or plumber (commercial construction experience preferred).
  • 2+ years of relevant supervisory experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of security systems (CCTV, access control, alarm systems).
  • Strong understanding of building codes, safety legislation, and emergency protocols.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license required; willing to obtain 5th Class Power Engineer Certification within 6 months (asset if already held).
  • Comfortable with technology, including Microsoft Office programs.
  • Physically capable of heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs) and working in various conditions, heights, or confined spaces.
