Position Summary:
The Dietary Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Dietary Department services and staff. The Dietary Manager has the responsibility, and accountability for the department’s physical, financial, and human resources. The Dietary manager oversees the delivery of quality dining services to residents. In this hands-on role, you will report to the Administrator in the Home and Plan A as your employer. Food service standards and safety will be a top priority. You will enlist the Food Services Supervisor and/or the Registered Dietician in the Home to ensure resident feedback is incorporated into their dining experience.
What you will bring:
- Great leaderships skills to ensure a vibrant, engaged workplace culture whose focus is safety and quality care.
- Ensure that the Dietary Department operates in compliance with provincial long-term care or retirement home legislation related to dietary standards, as well as with other relevant legislation affecting the department e.g., Joint Health and Safety Committee, NB Labor Act, Human Rights Code, Public Health legislation.
- Ensure an organized program of nutrition and hydration services to meet resident needs and provide safe and nutritious choices, including therapeutic and texture modified diets.
- Supervise all phases of dietary operational planning and expenditures, inventory management, procurement, budgeting, costing, and financial reporting.
- Conduct quality improvement, risk management and health and safety activities to monitor, evaluate and improve quality of services.
What We’re Looking For:
- Must have a Current membership in the Canadian Society of Nutritional Management (C.S.N.M.) or the College of Dietitians.
- Post-secondary diploma in a recognized Food and Nutrition Management Program.
- Minimum 2-3 years dietary management experience in long-term care or other healthcare setting
- Knowledge of the Fixing the Long-Term Care Act, 2021.
- Leadership experience within a healthcare setting and the ability to be able to work dayshift and evening shift as needed.
- Proof of current flu immunization according to policy.
- Provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) with a current (within the past 6 months) criminal background check.
- Food Handler’s Certificate required.
