At Baker Tilly, we care about the impact you make. That’s why we’re invested in your growth from day one—because the steps you take today define your tomorrow.

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Finance practice— a role where you will leverage your CPA training and expertise to deliver high-impact financial advisory services. You’ll work on mergers & acquisitions, due diligence, financial modeling, and strategic analysis, collaborating with clients and senior professionals to support major business decisions. Here, you’ll collaborate with a dynamic team of professionals, united by a shared commitment to making a difference—for our clients, our communities, and one another.

Baker Tilly is a leading advisory and accounting firm dedicated to building better futures. With global reach and local roots, we combine the scale of a network with the trust of strong relationships. From audit and tax to consulting and specialist advisory services, we help clients navigate complexity and seize opportunity with clarity.

“There is no limit to the growth opportunities at Baker Tilly. We pride ourselves on promoting talent when we see it, and work with each professional to define what success means for them.”

Your role:

  • Financial due diligence: Lead and coordinate financial due diligence for buy-side and sell-side transactions, including analysis of financial statements, business plans, and public data.
  • Quality of earnings & valuation: Prepare quality of earnings reports, identify key issues, risks, and valuation impacts, and present findings to clients and stakeholders.
  • Financial modeling: Build and review financial models for transaction analysis, scenario planning, and valuation purposes.
  • Advisory services: Deliver corporate finance advisory services, including capital raising, restructuring, and integration planning.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Collaborate with clients, legal advisors, and internal teams to ensure seamless transaction execution.
  • Reporting & documentation: Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations for clients and management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with professional standards.
  • Compliance & controls: Ensure all work adheres to CPA standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
  • Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and client service delivery.

What you bring to the table:

  • CPA designation (or in progress); CBV or CFA is an asset.
  • 2+ years’ experience in professional services, corporate finance, or transaction advisory.
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline with strong academic credentials.
  • Advanced financial analysis and modeling skills (Excel, Power BI, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of Canadian GAAP (ASPE/IFRS), tax principles, and corporate finance concepts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to present complex information clearly to clients and team members.
  • Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and adaptability to unstructured projects and timelines.
  • Commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, and continuous learning.

What’s in it for you?

  • Summer Fridays
  • Fun, team-oriented culture — including social events like axe throwing, wine tours, and team outings
  • Unique office location in the heart of Walkerville
