Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is a 315-bed academic and teaching hospital that provides specialized mental health, addiction and geriatric care. Located on the shores of Georgian Bay, we serve some of the most complex and disadvantaged individuals in Ontario and are the sole provider of high-secure forensic mental health services in the province.
The Manager of Staffing Services is currently seeking a Full Time Staffing Clerk. The purpose of the position is to complete the full staff scheduling process, including the preparation of staff schedules for posting, filling of vacancies due to incidents such as sickness or LOA’s, and pre-booking of additional part-time staff to address short-term operational requirements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Work collaboratively with the Team, documenting information from incoming calls reporting absences from work, hiring of additional staff to address unanticipated operational requirements, communicate with Clinical/Departmental Managers/designates on a daily basis
- Process schedule change requests, accurate data entry into relevant databases, preprint staff schedule information in accordance with Staffing Office contingency plan
- Provide maintenance of staffing statistics, filing/clerical duties as required
- Participate in Committee and staff meetings
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 1 years of experience in a staffing/scheduling role working with scheduling processes and systems, preferably in a mental health care or hospital setting
- Minimum 1 years of experience in administrative functions
- Preference for proven knowledge of relevant legislation(s) and Waypoint’s collective agreements
- Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Office Suite, staffing scheduling software
- Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills
- Proven effective written and verbal communication skills
- Results oriented work ethic to work independently and undertake tasks needed to accomplish work objectives and deliver quality, consistent and timely results
- Proven ability to adapt readily to change
- Models and promotes core ethical practice, Waypoint Values, and reflects an optimistic and positive attitude
- Preference for proficiency in French/English
