About The Role We are seeking an experienced Mine Site Controller to lead financial operations at a major mine site. This role oversees all site-level accounting, cost control, budgeting, reporting, and financial governance across the full mining lifecycle-from exploration to operations.

This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical accounting, deep mining-industry experience, and the ability to collaborate with operations, procurement, and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial operations at the mine site, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong internal controls.
  • Track and report capital expenditures, ensuring alignment with approved budgets.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting functions in line with corporate governance policies.
  • Prepare monthly management reporting packages, including KPIs, analyses, and cost reviews.
  • Lead planning cycles for annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and life-of-mine financial plans.
  • Support and optimize ERP implementation, workflows, and ongoing improvements.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and coordinate cash calls to head office.
  • Partner with operations teams to enhance cost transparency and efficiency.
  • Manage internal and external financial reporting and provide technical IFRS guidance.
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure proper controls, contract compliance, and working-capital efficiency.
  • Work closely with senior executives on financial strategy and decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • CPA designation required.
  • 7+ years of financial experience in the mining industry (mandatory).
  • Experience with ERP implementation (asset).
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and strategic planning abilities.
  • Proven leadership experience: mentoring, developing, and managing staff.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
