You as a Senior Estimator will:

  • Confidently lead a team through project procurement, the bid process and pre-construction
  • Work along side the scheduling team in their assembly of accurate, timely and well-organized schedules, to algin with the estimates.
  • Assemble accurate, detailed, and well-organized budgets and estimates, including Hard-Bid, Construction Management, and Design Build
  • Review drawings and tender documents to understand scope of work and submission requirements
  • Procure and negotiate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
  • Organize sub-contractor quotes when the bid is successful, re-writing binders and assisting the buy-out process
  • Monitor the success of a project, assisting with value engineering and noting potential challenges
  • Identifying contractual risks or concerns within an RFP.
  • Oversee Pre-Construction and Construction Management Proposal, including the assembly of General Condition and Design Fee Estimates.
  • Distribute sub-trade quotes and budgets to personnel, flagging areas of concern and coordinating with management to accommodate risk within the bid price
  • Maintain databases, including labour rates, material pricing, and project costs, for future reference

Is this the right role for you?

  • You have five to ten (5-10) years of experience in ICI estimating or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
  • You have an advanced knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and construction contracts as well as conceptual estimating and unit costs
  • You have the ability to work and communicate effectively and accurately in time-sensitive situations while delegating to a team
  • You have the ability to work independently, with little oversight.
  • You have experience in distributing sub-trade quotes, noting areas of concern and coordinating with management to accommodate risk within the bid price
  • You have experience using various takeoff software, specifically either CostX or BlueBeam.
