Job Description Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for leading complex engineering projects? Asa Project Manager, Engineering , you’ll play a pivotal role in driving the success of our Engineering Department. This position will expand your technical expertise and strengthen your leadership skills, preparing you for a variety of career paths within ISI.

You’ll be responsible for managing program interfaces and work management systems, ensuring engineering teams have the tools and processes they need to deliver on project scope. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment, enjoys cross-functional collaboration, and is committed to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage both planned and emergent engineering projects.
  • Oversee core project management functions, including cost analysis, schedule control, vendor coordination, and change management.
  • Interpret Statements of Work and contract requirements to ensure scope compliance and delivery.
  • Support internal and external stakeholders with procurement, change processes, and work management tools.
  • Review and develop technical deliverables and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Quality Management to create repeatable processes and procedures.
  • Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and make informed technical decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in an Engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of technical experience and project management within large-scale projects or portfolios.
  • P.Eng and PMP certifications are strong assets.
  • Background in heavy industrial, manufacturing, or fabrication environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
