EIPS is recruiting a Full-time (1.0 FTE) LINKS Teacher at Fort Saskatchewan Elementary. This assignment will teach Elementary Special Education.

The Learning - Individual Needs, Knowledge and Skills (LINKS) Program is a specialized system program designed to meet the needs of students with mild to severe/profound cognitive (intellectual) disabilities, who may also have physical, sensory, medical or behavioural difficulties. The focus of the program is to improve academic, communication, self-care, social, vocational and independent living skills within a safe, structured and supported learning environment.

Fort Saskatchewan Elementary serves approximately 285 students in

kindergarten to Grade 6, with 16 teaching staff and 12 support staff. The

school is located in Fort Saskatchewan, AB, approximately 20 kilometres north

of Sherwood Park, AB.

Fort Saskatchewan Elementary is a welcoming K–6 school in the heart of

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Education degree
  • Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
  • Effective organization and classroom management skills
  • Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
  • Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
