CO-OP MECHANICAL ENGINEER (8-MONTH) Activity sector: Pulp and Paper
Site: Kamloops, B.C.
Wage: $26.00 - $27.00 per hour
Term: May 2026 – December 2026
Schedule: Compressed Work Week (9-hour dayshifts, every other Friday off)
YOUR ROLE Reporting to the Site Mechanical Engineer, the Mechanical Engineer Co-op will be focused on a capital projects, reliability of industrial systems and construction management. Applicants must be enrolled in post-secondary education in their 3 rd or 4 th year Mechanical Engineering.
Your Responsibilities ü Provide engineering support for pulp manufacturing, renewable power generation and environmental systems.
ü Be part of a team that promotes continuous learning, coaching and mentoring
ü AutoCAD drafting and design
ü Work with the site Mechanical Engineers to plan and prepare documents for mechanical construction and commissioning of ongoing projects.
ü Documentation and engineering drawing management for multi-discipline projects. Duties will include liaison with engineering consultants, contractors and vendors.
ü Completion of a number of self-managed projects.
Your Skills And Abilities ü Team player with strong written and verbal communication skills
ü Ability to work across organizational boundaries
ü Strong organizational skills
ü Self-starter with strong personal initiative and follow-through
ü Familiar with AutoCAD skills.
Your Qualifications Required:
ü Attending post-secondary education – 3 rd or 4 th year Mechanical Engineering
ü Good problem-solving skills
ü Strong commitment to safety and quality
ü Eligibility to work in Canada
ü Access to reliable transportation
Preferred:
ü Pulp and Paper experience
ü Experience working with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
