Returns and Quality Control Warehouse Associate
About the role
The Returns and Quality Control Warehouse Associate is responsible for supporting the inspection, processing, repackaging, and disposition of returned products. This role works closely with the Quality Control Technician to ensure that returned parts are properly evaluated and either returned to inventory, disposed of, or processed according to company procedures.
The position also supports general warehouse operations as required and reports directly to the Warehouse Manager in Montreal.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Quality Control Technician with the processing and inspection of returned products. Receive, sort, and inspect returned automotive and mechanical parts. Verify the condition, completeness, and accuracy of returned items. Identify visible damage, defects, incorrect parts, missing components, or packaging issues. Determine whether inspected products are suitable to be returned to inventory, subject to approval. Clean, re-box, repackage, and label approved parts before returning them to stock. Ensure that all products returned to inventory are properly protected and packaged. Separate and dispose of defective, damaged, or non-repairable parts in accordance with company procedures. Prepare products that must be returned to vendors or transferred to another warehouse. Maintain accurate records of inspected, re-boxed, returned, and disposed products in the ERP system and applicable tracking files. Report discrepancies, recurring defects, product damage, or quality concerns to the Quality Control Technician and Warehouse Manager. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized returns and inspection area. Assist with receiving, put-away, picking, packing, cycle counts, inventory verification, and other warehouse activities as required. Follow all company procedures related to safety, quality control, inventory accuracy, and product handling. Perform other related duties assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
Qualifications And Skills
Previous experience in warehouse operations, returns processing, repackaging, or quality control is an asset. Basic mechanical knowledge is required. Good manual skills and an ability to work with automotive or mechanical parts. Ability to inspect products carefully and identify visible defects or discrepancies. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Good problem-solving abilities. Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work efficiently. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP systems. General knowledge of warehouse procedures and inventory-control practices. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Reliable, responsible, and committed to maintaining quality standards. Ability to safely lift, move, and handle boxes and parts as required.
