Could you be the full-time hybrid Wayside Software Leader in Saint-Bruno, QC, CA we’re looking for?

Your future role Take on a new challenge and apply your software engineering and leadership expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative and collaborative teammates.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Leading the software design cycle, ensuring requirements analysis, design, development, and acceptance testing are completed with a high level of quality and performance,
  • Coordinating resource workload through rigorous task planning to achieve on-time deliveries within budget commitments,
  • Defining resource needs, selecting and hiring new team members, and providing training to support their growth,
  • Defining outsourcing needs, scoping work, and following up on external work execution,
  • Reporting task progress, issues, and KPIs, including accurate schedules and workload forecasts,
  • Developing, managing, and maintaining test lab environments to fully verify software packages prior to vehicle testing,
  • Building collaborative relationships across engineering functions to ensure solutions are compliant and fully integrated,
  • Applying software design processes, methodologies, and tools to ensure efficiency and domain excellence within project execution,
  • Challenging project peers, driving process improvements, and promoting optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.

All About You We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent,
  • Experience or understanding of leading a technical team in software development and deployment projects,
  • Knowledge of Windows-based IT solutions, including Microsoft Windows administration, IIS, and .NET framework,
  • Familiarity with SQL database design and debugging using SQL Server tools,
  • Fluent communication skills in English and French,
  • Strong project and people management skills,
  • Knowledge of networking and security of computer systems, including Ethernet (IPv4), firewall, and VPN,
  • Familiarity with VMWare configuration,
  • Experience in business development and commercial strategy, including preparing commercial proposals and managing change,
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell.

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Work with cutting-edge technology to design and implement innovative Wayside solutions for railway vehicles,
  • Progress towards becoming a recognized expert in software engineering and leadership within the rail industry,
  • Utilise our inclusive, dynamic, and collaborative working environment to foster continuous learning and professional growth,
  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries,
  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension).

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
