About the role
Role Overview
Our Toronto based client is looking for a Senior, client-facing Control Analyst to support a large retail transformation, leading meetings with executives and driving ICFR/SOX testing, status reporting, and control improvements across multiple teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead/attend meetings with senior client stakeholders; address questions on information request lists (IRLs/PBCs).
- Perform and review ICFR control testing to assess design & operating effectiveness (SOX 404, NI 52-109).
- Manage project timelines/deliverables; provide regular status reports with risks, issues, next steps.
- Collaborate across functions for smooth execution; identify control gaps and recommend remediation.
- Maintain clear documentation for control testing and project activities.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 10+ years in controls, audit, or related roles.
- Hands-on experience with ICFR, SOX 404, and NI 52-109 (mandatory).
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills; proven project management and stakeholder communication.
- Comfortable engaging senior clients and working independently/in a fast-paced team.
Nice to Have
- Professional designation: CPA/CA/CIA (preferred).
- Retail sector experience.
- Audit board/governance exposure.
