About the role

Overview

Brandt is seeking an experienced Asset Manager to oversee and optimize the performance of the company's equipment finance portfolio. This role is responsible for managing residual values, mitigating portfolio risk, and maximizing asset recovery throughout the lease lifecycle. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure strong portfolio performance, revenue retention, and long-term profitability.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Create and maintain residual matrices for all collateral types across our line up of products.
  • Analyze residual value matrices annually to ensure values continue to be in line with the market.
  • Assess and set residual values in one off scenario where an exception to the matrix is required. Final sign off required from ownership.
  • Manage existing RV exposure including but not limited to:
    • Providing regular reporting of upcoming maturities and communicating the information to BF and BT Sales teams.
    • Work closely with BF and BT Sales teams to ensure customers meet their end of term obligations and that leases are closed on the date of maturity; oversee and manage current RV tracking process.
    • Manage end of term inspections process with the branches to ensure a timely resolution at end of term; units are brought back into inventory in a timely manner; ensure over hours, damage and interest is collected if applicable.
    • Assist in coordinating payouts of residual values with lending partners (with BF team in Regina) after inspection has been completed.
    • Track total residual exposure by industry and Brandt business unit, providing management with forecasts for renewals, and identifying potential transactions with equity or loss exposure.
    • Work closely with remarketing/international team to identify customers and outlets to presell unwanted units as they get close to maturity date.
    • Mine end of term reporting to support and create programs to address aged inventory or seasonal needs.
    • Champion a new revenue line for BF by working closely with the banks and provide a remarketing alternative to Ritchie Bros. Target existing BF relationships and be the remarketer of choice for all the lenders repos and RV returns.

What We Look For

  • Strong knowledge of construction and/or heavy equipment markets.
  • 5+ years of experience in asset management, equipment finance, or related fields.
  • Proven experience managing residual values and portfolio risk.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Adaptable and well-organized in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and portfolio management systems.
