About the Role
Levitt-Safety is hiring a mechanically inclined VFSS Install Technician to support mining customers across Northern Ontario.
You’ll install, inspect, and service fire suppression systems on heavy equipment (haul trucks, loaders, drills), working both in the field and in-shop. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working on equipment, and being onsite with customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, and repair fire suppression systems on heavy equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues
- Service fire extinguishers and related safety equipment
- Complete digital service reports (tablet/iPad)
- Travel to mine sites across Northern Ontario
- Support in-shop work as needed
- Participate in on-call rotation
- Deliver strong, professional customer service onsite
What You Bring
- Mechanical experience (mining, heavy equipment, automotive, diesel, or similar)
- Strong troubleshooting skills + basic electrical knowledge
- Comfortable working independently in field environments
- Solid communication and customer service skills
- Tech-savvy (tablets, mobile devices)
- Valid G license with clean abstract
Nice to have:
- Fire suppression experience
- Common Core, Working at Heights, Confined Space
- Previous mine site experience
Requirements:
- Ability to pass drug & alcohol screening, background check, and driver abstract
- Mine site experience or site orientations
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Physically demanding (lift up to 50 lbs)
- Work on large equipment, at heights, and in confined spaces
- Frequent travel and driving
- Outdoor work in all weather + uneven terrain
- Full PPE and site safety compliance required
