What you’ll be doing

The Relationship Officer is responsible for managing day-to-day relationship with third party business partners to optimize business results and continually achieve and exceed targeted portfolio performance.

The individual in this role evaluates the effectiveness of assigned business partners’ performance to provide them with comprehensive coaching and development plans, while anticipating and adapting to changes in new market conditions and/or legislations. As part of the Relationship Officer team, the candidate actively shares and champions best practices with the Unsecured Recovery Operations team to promote consistency in benchmarking portfolio and business partner performance, and continually improves departmental practices with the goal to maximize the return on investment.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

  • Client focused – Responds to extremely complex and/or sensitive client escalations.
  • Problem solving – Sets clear performance expectations, monitor progress and provide business partners with feedback and direction to optimize business results and promote efficiency and timely account resolution.
  • Adaptable and Flexible – Supports the achievement of Recovery Operations business objectives and portfolio targets through extensive and effective analysis, interpretation and comprehension of various reports and financial data, to influence Business Partners’ performance, while minimizing financial loss and/or risk to CIBC.
