This is a Quebec-based independent insurance company, serving both personal and commercial clients. The firm offers tailored insurance and risk management solutions across multiple industries, working with a wide network of insurers rather than a single provider. They are equally a technology company which has built an in-house software platform that is a no-code configurable platform for the distribution of financial products since 2020.
More about role: As Principal Director of IT, you will be responsible for establishing the department’s vision and technology governance. You will oversee the IT team and ensure system security to support business objectives. This role requires deep expertise in managing complex projects, technology architecture, and organizational leadership, while fostering a culture of collaboration and agility.

As a Principal IT Director, you will be responsible for defining the department’s strategic vision and technology governance, while actively contributing to the execution and continuous improvement of processes. You will oversee the IT team and ensure the security and performance of systems to support business objectives.

Title: Principal Director of IT Address: 2 days a week in office. Napierville, QC J0J 1L0 or La Prairie Type: Full time and permanent Salary: 175-185k with flexibility + 7,000-10,000$ bonus + benefits + matching RRSP 2-4%+ 4 weeks’ vacation. They also offer other perks as well including gym, office expense, electric car expense, 250$ a year for entertainment ect.
Your responsibilities. Provide direct management to members of the IT team. Ensure the execution of the roadmap to deliver new infrastructure and service projects. Deliver excellent user support by addressing Level 1 and Level 2 requests in accordance with SLAs, as needed. Collaborate with managers across departments to address their infrastructure and IT service needs. Manage recurring IT operations, including user onboarding, vendor management, inventory management, and license renewals. Oversee the Infosec program by supporting policy enforcement and compliance with controls. Develop and propose training programs to educate users on IT tools, security, and processes, ensuring all systems are used to their full potential within the organization. Your skills, your full potential. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Service Management, or equivalent. More than 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure and services, including at least 2 years in a management role. Expertise in private and public cloud hosting, including backup, recovery, and business continuity practices. Relevant experience with network infrastructure and telephony solutions. Experience implementing an ITSM system and support framework for incident and service request management. Experience with MDM solutions and endpoint security. Experience in vendor systems implementation, user training, and end-user support. Experience administering Microsoft 365 services. Bilingual (French and English), with the ability to communicate regularly with English-speaking vendors.
