We are searching for a Wellness Assistant (Recreation) to join our Faubourg du Mascaret team based in Moncton , New Brunswick. About The Opportunity

  • Assisting with planning, implementing and evaluating internal and external recreation programs focusing on emotional, intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual needs of the clients;
  • Conducting recreation programs in a variety of settings, such as large groups, small groups and one-to-one;
  • Preparing rooms, materials and equipment for recreation programs;
  • Motivating and facilitating client participation in recreation programs and involvement with the community;
  • Documenting client progress evaluations, admission assessments and other reports as required;
  • Maintaining accurate client participation records; analyzes data to assist in the development of appropriate programs;
  • Assisting in the training, supervision, and evaluation of volunteers and student placements.

About You In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:

  • A high-school diploma or equivalent education;
  • A post-secondary education in a relative field considered a strong asset and is preferred;
  • Advanced proficiency in the English & French language is required;
  • You are an energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and has experience in programming and planning for seniors in a recreational environment;
  • Current First Aid & CPR certificate considered an asset;
  • Ability to provide a clear criminal record check upon hire;
  • Class 4 Driver’s License considered an asset;
  • A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.
