About the role

WHY DO WE NEED YOU? Saint‑Gobain Canada is establishing a dedicated capability to strengthen network supply chain optimization across its Canadian manufacturing and distribution footprint. The Network Supply Chain Optimization Manager will play a key role in shaping how products flow across Canada—balancing cost and service.

This role is responsible for leading data‑driven analyses of the end‑to‑end supply chain network, including manufacturing plants, distribution centers, cross‑docks, and transportation flows. Working closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, Finance, and Commercial teams, the role will develop actionable insights and business cases that inform network design decisions, footprint evolution, and freight optimization initiatives.

This position is ideal for a supply chain professional who combines strong analytical capability with the ability to influence strategic decisions in a complex, multi‑business‑unit environment.

Key Responsibilities

Network & Asset Optimization

  • Analyze the current Canadian supply chain network, including manufacturing locations, distribution centers, customer delivery points, and intercompany flows.
  • Assess network efficiency and identify opportunities related to footprint optimization, inventory positioning, capacity utilization, and service improvement.
  • Support evaluations of network scenarios such as facility expansions, consolidations, relocations, or new distribution strategies aligned with business growth.

Transportation & Freight Optimization

  • Analyze finished goods transportation flows across Canada, including TL, LTL, intermodal, and rail.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce freight cost and variability through routing optimization, mode shifts, load consolidation, and improved lane strategies.
  • Conduct cost‑to‑serve, lane profitability, and service trade‑off analyses to support commercial and operational decisions.

Scenario Modeling & Analytics

  • Develop and maintain analytical models to evaluate supply chain scenarios, balancing cost, service, risk, and sustainability considerations.
  • Extract and integrate data from ERP, TMS, WMS, 3PL partners, and external sources to support modeling and insights.
  • Build dashboards and reports that translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.

Business Case Development & Strategy Support

  • Prepare business cases for network and logistics initiatives, including financial impact, risks, and implementation considerations.
  • Contribute to the development of a multi‑year Canadian network optimization roadmap aligned with Saint‑Gobain’s strategic priorities.
  • Support capital planning discussions related to logistics infrastructure and network investments.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Logistics, Finance, Procurement, Sales, and IT teams across Canadian business units.
  • Present findings, scenarios, and recommendations to senior leaders in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Support change management by aligning stakeholders around data‑driven network decisions.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU? Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Business Analytics, or a related field (Master’s degree considered an asset)
  • 5–8 years of experience in supply chain optimization, network design, logistics analytics, or operations strategy, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel and experience using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
  • Experience working with ERP and supply chain systems (e.g., SAP, TMS, WMS)
  • Exposure to network modeling or optimization tools (e.g., Coupa/Llamasoft, AnyLogistix, Python) is an asset
  • Strong understanding of Canadian transportation networks and freight economics is preferred

Key Competencies

  • Strategic and analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to translate data and models into clear business insights
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Comfort working across multiple business units and priorities
  • Self‑starter with a continuous improvement and learning mindset

What Success Looks Like

  • A clear, integrated view of Saint‑Gobain Canada’s supply chain network and transportation flows
  • Identified and prioritized opportunities to reduce logistics cost while improving service and resilience
  • High‑quality, data‑backed business cases supporting network and footprint decisions
  • Strong cross‑functional alignment around network optimization initiatives
  • Tangible impact on supply chain performance, cost structure, and decision‑making quality
