###Job Summary
HSE Integrated is seeking an experiencedNational Construction Safety Officer (NCSO)for a8 month term position based in Grande Prairie, Alberta. This role supports field operations by assisting management in the administration, implementation, and maintenance of our Health & Safety Management System.
The NCSO will identify and address health and safety concerns specific to the worksite while ensuring compliance with company policies, client requirements, and provincial legislation. This position requires a strong safety leader who can effectively communicate with workers, management, and regulatory agencies to promote a proactive and positive safety culture.
**Reporting to:**Area Station Manager
###Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and administer effective health and safety programs.
- Provide technical advice and guidance regarding occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, codes, and best practices.
- Facilitate and support the delivery of health and safety training programs.
- Ensure HSE Integrated’s Safety Manual and procedures are implemented and followed across all work activities.
- Assist with incident investigations, including analysis, reporting, and preparation of incident summaries.
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to monitor safe work practices and procedures.
- Prepare inspection reports and ensure corrective actions are implemented when deficiencies are identified.
- Collaborate with management to ensure safety programs meet legislative and client compliance requirements.
- Communicate and implement updates to client safety requirements.
- Promote and support a positive safety culture where safety is an integral part of every task.
- Maintain current knowledge of client-specific requirements and provincial OH&S regulations.
###Required Qualifications
-Accreditation as a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO).
- Minimum5 years of field experience, preferably within theoil and gas industry.
- Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
###Physical Requirements
Candidates must be physically capable of performing the following:
- Working at heights and climbing ladders or stairs
- Working in small or confined spaces
- Lifting up to 50 lbs
- Pushing or pulling tools and equipment
- Sitting and driving for extended periods
- Bending, kneeling, and crouching
- Standing or walking for long periods
- Working in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind, snow)
- Working shifts of10–12 hours, with flexibility for longer shifts if required
###Required Certifications & Training
- H2S Alive
- Standard First Aid / CPR
- Valid unrestricted driver’s license with full driving privileges
- Construction Safety Training System (CSTS)
- High Angle Rescue Training
- Fire Extinguisher Level I & II
- Confined Space Entry / Rescue
- Confined Space Monitor (ESC)
Additional certifications and training may be required to meet client-specific requirements.
