Our team is at the early stages of defining a strategic roadmap, and the selected candidate will work with internal partners to understand their needs and deliver outcomes, with excellence. This role joins a team on a journey, with significant future potential in a global, sophisticated, and complex enterprise.

Scope of Position

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Integration & Performance Platform, the Senior Business Analyst will support and deliver a variety of initiatives to mission critical data and investment performance platforms. The incumbent will ensure that platforms align to department objectives, and the needs of our internal partners by delivering high value solutions and resolving issues.

We believe that time together in the office is important for OMERS and Oxford, the strength of our employees, and the work we do for our pension members. Our hybrid work guideline requires teams to come to the office a minimum of 4 days per week.

This is a 24 month fixed term T4 contract (not hourly, not incorporated)

Responsibilities

Lead and participate in both Agile and Waterfall projects related to data and performance platform enhancements, system integrations, and process improvements that benefit OMERS investment teams, Corporate Finance and Capital Markets Finance

Ensure that project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines are clearly documented and communicated

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements for projects impacting the OMERS investment data warehouse, and performance measurement platform (e.g. user stories, business requirements documents, BPMN, data flow diagrams, etc.)

Design and develop complex investment reporting (SQL, SSRS, OLAP, Power BI etc.)

Define and execute business test plans, including performance and integration tests

Ensure change management principles are considered throughout delivery, including the early capture of stakeholder impacts, end user training, and communications

Partner with technology teams to implement system enhancements, upgrades, and patches

Act as a subject matter expert for the data warehouse and performance measurement platforms

Develop and maintain support documentation, including troubleshooting guides and knowledge base articles

Ensure data accuracy, integrity and availability by monitoring and resolving production data and platform issues, ensuring minimal disruption to investment teams

Develop and maintain data documentation, including data dictionaries, data lineage, and metadata

Develop relationships among partners by supporting a culture of transparency, collaboration, and service excellence

Qualifications

Minimum 6 years’ experience in business analysis roles supporting data warehouse platforms, including production support, change initiatives and/or large transformation programs

Expert knowledge of business analysis strategies (requirements elicitation, business process modeling, user stories, source to target mapping etc.)

Expert knowledge of SQL and relational databases

Expert knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and design patterns

Knowledge of investment performance measurement and attribution methodologies for fixed income and equity strategies

Knowledge of the investment lifecycle and data domains for exchange traded and OTC products, including exotic instruments

Hands-on experience delivering complex data assets, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects

Experience implementing and delivering changes to leading investment applications (e.g. Eagle, SimCorp, FactSet, Bloomberg, Aladdin)

Experience with the Azure cloud platform and/or Snowflake are nice to have

Excellence in all types of communication and facilitation with colleagues at all levels

Thrives in highly collaborative environments with a focus on team success

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, and Economics.

CFA and CBAP certifications are considered an asset

Possesses drive, optimism, and a desire to deliver with excellence and dedication to continuous improvement

Experience with using generative AI tools and prompt engineering a nice to have
