We are looking for a Staff Accountant – Assurance, Compilation, Tax (ACT Path) —a role where your expertise will drive meaningful outcomes and your ambition will help shape what comes next. Your role:

  • Plan and execute entry to intermediate level compilation and review engagements, with exposure to assurance engagements as assigned, ensuring professional standards, quality, and deadlines are met

  • Prepare year-end financial statements and related working papers for owner managed businesses across various industries

  • Prepare entry to intermediate level personal income tax returns (T1s) and related schedules, including analysis of common tax issues

  • Complete monthly and quarterly bookkeeping engagements, including accounts payable and receivable, bank and credit card reconciliations, payroll calculations and remittances, and annual T4 reporting

  • Assist with the preparation of corporate income tax returns (T2s), HST filings, and other applicable tax filings under supervision

  • Communicate with clients in a professional and timely manner, responding to inquiries and proactively identifying and resolving issues

  • Manage assigned engagement timelines, budgets, billing, and work in progress under the guidance of senior team members

  • Collaborate with team members to support engagement delivery and contribute to efficient internal processes and workflow improvements

  • Work effectively under tight deadlines, particularly during busy season, while delivering accurate, high-quality work

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

What you bring to the table:

  • Academic achievement – completed or near completion of an undergraduate degree and CPA pre-requisite courses

  • Plans to pursue a CPA designation

  • Strong client service skills

  • Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Salary range: $48,000 - $59,000 per annum.
