Role Summary:
We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst, Data Scouting to join the Technology & Operations, Data Scouting team. This role is pivotal in supporting end-to-end data procurement, vendor management, and operational controls across the Fund’s market data ecosystem, with a strong emphasis on market data administration, inventory management, and process optimization.
Reporting to the Managing Director, Total Fund Management & Risk Technology, the Senior Analyst will contribute to operational, administrative, and financial activities related to market data services, vendor relationships, and internal business support. This role will also support strategic initiatives focused on improving operational efficiency, enhancing controls, reducing costs, and modernizing workflows and processes.

Accountabilities
Market Data Administration & Vendor Management
- Handle day-to-day administrative inquiries from internal business units and lead analysts, including moves/adds/changes requests, inventory management, expense allocation, and invoice reconciliation support.
- Maintain an accurate and current inventory of contracts, services, pricing, users, vendors, and entitlements across the Fund’s market data environment.
- Manage data entitlements and real-time market data feed authorizations, ensuring appropriate licensing documentation and approvals are in place.
- Assist with end-to-end invoice reconciliation processes, including validating costs, explaining variances, and ensuring timely payment of supplier invoices.
- Respond to payment inquiries from vendor accounts receivable teams and investigate discrepancies using strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with market data vendors including Bloomberg, FactSet, exchanges, and other third-party providers.
Operational Support & Process Improvement
- Provide timely, accurate, and relevant analysis that supports operational decision-making and improves data quality and controls.
- Support month-end reconciliations and ongoing operational reporting activities.
- Conduct analyses of operational processes and workflows to identify opportunities for efficiency, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Assist with departmental initiatives related to process modernization, operational scalability, and technology enhancements.
- Support requirements gathering, testing, and implementation activities for new systems and tools.
- Help manage departmental file storage and communication hubs to support effective information sharing and collaboration.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
- Build strong relationships across Technology, Operations, Finance, and Investment teams to support operational excellence and high-quality service delivery.
- Collaborate effectively with business management peers and internal stakeholders to share best practices and improve processes.
- Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations for senior stakeholders when required.
- Demonstrate an ownership mentality and proactively contribute to team priorities and initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree or college diploma in a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in financial services, market data operations, consulting, data/vendor management, or related operational environments.
- Experience working with market data vendors such as Bloomberg, FactSet, and Exchanges is preferred.
- Familiarity with FITS/MDSL inventory systems is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships effectively across teams and levels.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments with a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Programming or automation experience (e.g., SQL, Python, Excel VBA) is considered an asset.
- Interest in process improvement, operational efficiency, and leveraging technology and automation to improve workflows.
