We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled individuals to join our Board of Directors and help us continue this legacy. This volunteer position offers a unique opportunity to leverage your skills and experience, engage with our community and ensure our programs continue to create lasting impact. You will play a vital role in shaping the future of our organization and supporting our mission to providing exceptional services to pre-school children with disabilities and their families. Candidates should want to play an active leadership role and have professional skills in one or more of the following areas: Strategic Planning & Execution Social Media & Communications Fundraising & Community Engagement Employment Law Finance & Accounting Experience in the charitable not-for-profit sector, or lived experience within this community, is an asset.
Your Responsibilities: Provide advice and counsel in your areas of expertise and knowledge, in collaboration with the Board and Executive Director. Foster a positive environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion. Engage in committee leadership as a chair or a working member of Board committees. Engage in governance and oversight guiding organizational direction, ensuring financial stability and adherence to regulations and policies. Support to Strategic and business planning and decision-making. Contribute to fundraising activities & community engagement to help secure resources to support our mission. Active Participation in Board and Committee meetings and contribution to informed decision-making.
Your Qualifications: A passionate commitment to our mission, values and inclusion. Commitment to advocacy for vulnerable populations, such as children with disabilities. Proven working knowledge in one or more of the required areas of expertise. Ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to strategic discussions. Creative mindset with an interest in actively contributing to significant decisions facing the organization. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders, often navigating sensitive and confidential issues. Ability to work in a team environment, think ‘outside the box’ and contribute to innovative solutions. Availability to actively participate in board meetings, committee discussions, and strategic planning sessions on a regular basis.
