We are hiring a Skin Cleansing Engagement Lead to be an integral part of the Unilever Canada Personal Care team. We are building a true E2R demand creation engine – to empower our marketeers to do what they do best and to set us up to win today and into the future. You will be embedded as a critical team member into the day-to-day operations of Unilever Canada's Brand and Media teams supporting some of Canada's most loved brands including Dove.
Key Responsibilities This role will report to the Skin Cleansing Category Lead but will also work directly with the Personal Care Canada Director as well as the Canadian + North American Media Teams.
A transformation is taking place within Marketing + Media as the evolution of traditional marketing to social-first demand generation takes place. To accelerate our social first journey at an exponential pace we are looking for the best talent - a media-savvy, digital native with experience in content + media optimization who has a passion for all things digital. Someone who is not afraid to break convention to be a change catalyst within our business. This role will be central to the PC Team helping to evolve our Engagement and Demand Generation capabilities in the rapidly evolving media landscape.
Role As Engagement Lead, you will play a key role in performance monitoring and dynamic content optimization across all Skin Cleansing campaigns. In this role you will:
- Quarterback the development and implementation of PC Canada’s social-first demand generation process. This role will be responsible for setting up the social first demand generation engine in 2025 (including working with and onboarding new agencies and processes) and scaling the approach into 2026 to focus on optimising the output to maximise media ROI.
- Leverage audience, media, and cultural insights to learn and dynamically make our marketing more effective.
- Planning data-led, social-first campaigns, owning the process of implementation and optimization. Analyze RROI performance metrics and lead dynamic contention optimization of modular content.
- Lead groundbreaking innovation launches in Canada with insights embedded in culture including partnerships and collaborations on existing brands
- Drive earned for Skin cleansing via optimising PR strategies with the brand team as well as PR and media agencies; lean into agile marketing to drive talkability and relevance of our SCL brands.
Required Qualifications
- A strong understanding & appreciation for relevant consumer & cultural trends especially on digital and social media channels. Keeping a pulse on the ever-evolving media landscape to get ahead of the curve.
- Ability to develop and accelerate social first deployment capabilities with internal stakeholders and external agencies. Use data to inform, experiment, refine and drive social first marketing.
- Work closely with US brand partners to understand last 2 years’ journey on social first, optimizing Canadian ways of working with social agencies be it modular creative development, measurement framework with media agencies and converting learnings into actionable insights into brand plans.
- Actively track social media and cultural trends in Canada with the help of CMI, agencies and global trends. Educate brand leads on the same and help translate that into contextual and/or agile marketing campaigns in real time with speed and agility
- Ability to think big - building a business from scratch, crafting best-in-class media strategies, and managing a large portfolio. AND small - data is your best friend and you're close to the numbers (this allows you to pivot your strategy and give love to the business where needed)
- You're a pioneer - you know there's a lot of unknown in this space, and you're okay with that. You embrace the new and explore new spaces with excitement and bring others along.
- This role involves close work with the marketing teams plus our media agency. There is extensive cross-functional work with a wide range of stakeholders. This role does not have any direct reports: rather, it requires one to manage a large external agency team and to collaborate effectively with a wide range of colleagues. A part of the role is also to share learning that will increase marketers’ capabilities in the changing environment specific to media best practices for the business.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years relevant marketing / media experience in CPG industry
- A self-starter with excellent bias for action, who proactively loves brands and marketing and is keen on learning and deploying new marketing ways
- Solid experience leading Social Media channels, Digital Marketing and/or e-commerce preferred
- Prior experience in Canadian market preferred
- Prior knowledge of the Skin Cleansing category is a plus.
