**Note:**This is for 1 Regular Full-Time vacancy. This is a hybrid position based in London, Ontario.This position is deemed a critical replacement vacancy.
Payband: This position is paid at Payband J, $43.61 - $50.39 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

We are seeking aSenior Accountantwho will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity, transparency, and accuracy of the College’s financial reporting. As a key member of the Financial Services team, this role goes beyond traditional accounting: it is an opportunity to influence strategic financial stewardship across a dynamic, multi-entity organization.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Services, the Senior Accountant will oversee critical accounting functions including the integrity of the general ledger, preparation of consolidated financial statements for the College and subsidiaries, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and insight that supports informed decision-making across the institution.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Financial Integrity & Compliance
- Ensures the integrity of financial records and monitors adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and CFIS provincial financial consolidation reporting guidelines
- Prepares quarter‑end and year‑end consolidated college financial statements, including reconciliation of ministry grants
- Prepares quarter‑end and year‑end financial statements for the college’s foundation
- Completes year‑end supporting schedules and the CFIS consolidated financial statement submission to the ministry
- Prepares year‑end Charity Tax Returns for both the college and the foundation for submission to the Canada Revenue Agency
Workflow Coordination & Management
- Coordinates and allocates workflow within the Financial Services team
- Reviews output and provides feedback to staff in consultation with the Senior Manager
Insurance Program Administration
- Manages the annual renewal of the corporate insurance program
- Reviews new or amended insurance coverages
- Completes periodic reporting of claims and other insurance‑related activities in conjunction with the Senior Manager
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Prepares, analyzes, and assists with periodic financial projects, reports, and schedules
- Provides information and analysis to college staff and external auditors as required
Other
- Provides consulting services to college departments in areas such as payroll and pension regulations, audit requirements, year‑end processes, and general ledger issues
- Performs other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring
- 3 year diploma/degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- Equivalent education may be considered
- CPA designation
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the preparation of financial statements for a multi-faceted organization
- Experience gained as a team player in a service-oriented office environment
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel including use of pivot tables, Vlookup
- Experience using computerized financial systems
- Advanced assessment and decision‑making skills
- Proven ability to take initiative and work with minimal direction
- Ability to take a self‑directed approach to work as well as collaborate within a team
- High attention to detail
- Experience with Workday or other similar ERP system would be an asset
- Experience in an educational or public sector environment an asset
