About the role

Your Opportunity:

We are looking for a passionate Registered Nurse to join our interdisciplinary team in our Ambulatory Care department here at the Northern Lights Health Centre in beautiful Fort McMurray. As the Registered Nurse, you will be utilizing our values (AHS cares) and Patient First Strategy in your practice to provide leading care to Albertans. Ambulatory Care has several different clinics that will help expand your nursing practice and improve your competency in the different areas. These clinics include Endoscopy; IV infusion; Wound clinic/ Colposcopy/ ENT/ Minor Surgery/ Orthopedics/ Stress Lab and other future clinics. Also, in this position you will be required to take the Oncology courses and cross train to Oncology. Your main position will be Ambulatory Care, but you will be asked to cover Oncology when needed. We will also strive to utilize you in the Oncology unit so that you continue to be competent in the skills that you learned.

The allowance is non-pensionable and payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58 /hour - $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

  • Lead II course. Recent 1 year experience in Ambulatory Care.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Endoscopy experience. Oncology experience an asset.
