Job Description:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Director or designate, the Clinical Nurse Specialist collaborates with physicians, clinicians and leaders to plan and direct initiatives which support evidence-based care in all settings and relevant programs across Island Health.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist contributes expertise towards the development of policies and clinical practice, aligning with Health Authority strategic initiatives related to the program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master of Science in Nursing and five (5) to seven (7) years' experience in delivery of program-related care; leadership roles preferred. Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant. National certification in program area, where required.
