We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our team downtown Toronto. The Assistant Project Manager is a support role within the construction project team, contributing to the successful planning, coordination, and execution of development projects. This role involves assisting with budgeting, scheduling, progress tracking, and communication with all stakeholders involved in the project lifecycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Project Managers in the day-to-day management of construction projects, from pre-construction through to completion.
  • Assist with preparing and tracking project budgets, schedules, and key deliverables.
  • Manage the return of all outstanding Development Securities on active projects.
  • Monitor project timelines and help ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Coordinate the flow of project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and meeting minutes.
  • Help review and verify invoices, cost tracking, and budget reconciliation.
  • Attend site meetings, track progress, and follow up on action items.
  • Ensure project files and records are kept up to date and compliant with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in identifying potential risks or delays and recommend mitigation strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Post-secondary degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in construction project coordination or management.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore, or similar platforms).
  • Solid understanding of budgeting, scheduling, and construction monitoring processes.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, subcontractor coordination, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a collaborative approach to working with diverse project teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project needs in a fast-paced environment.
