Job Description Sr IT Portfolio Manager We are ready to take this game to the next level and need someone passionate to develop and maintain the sequenced Portfolio and Integrated Plan ensuring that the portfolio is structured to provide the best opportunity for the successful delivery of multiple Strategic Benefits. This includes ensuring that inter and intra project and program dependencies, constraints and risks are recognized and resolved through cross organizational collaboration and escalation as required for successful resolution .

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME Reporting to the Director Enterprise Portfolio Management, you will be empowered to:

  • Consolidate and maintain an accurate, current and consolidated Master inventory of all initiatives (programs, projects and other initiatives requiring EC visibility)
  • To include all information required for the analysis and reporting of the portfolio by executive ownership/responsibility, contribution to Strategy and other groupings as required
  • Drive and lead the end-to-end Portfolio prioritization and sequencing process to prioritize a range of programs, projects, and other work within the portfolio with the goal of allocating resources to the activities that will generate the highest business value – during annual planning cycle and sub sequentially as new initiatives are introduced to the portfolio.
  • Lead, manage and be accountable for the Integrated Plan so that it can be used, in a near ‘real-time’ fashion, for executive (Milestone) reporting, what-if scenario development, benefit realization scheduling and other needs as required.
  • Develop, implement, ensure adoption and maintain PPM methodology, governance, standards and tools
  • Develop reports, presentations and insights on the portfolio in sufficient detail that the Executive Committee can accurately and confidently select the most appropriate projects for approval and funding
  • Supporting the PPS Directors, coordinate the creation of the Project Charters and Project Implementation
  • Plans to ensure that reporting is in consistent form and suitable for executive consumption
  • Work with Project Management Directors and their reports to gather, document and confirm portfolio dependencies, constraints and risks.
  • Provide central oversight into the portfolio composition, understanding all projects to a sufficient degree that
  • dependencies, constraints and risks can be predicted, analyzed for potential implications and optimally resolved.
  • Perform impact assessment on the integrated view of the portfolio caused by project issues and change requests.
  • Manage and maintain the enterprise view of corporate project resources and capacity

Education & Experience WHAT YOU BRING TO THE GAME

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Master’s degree in business administration/management is preferred but
  • not mandatory
  • Training in analytics is preferred but not required, and candidates should have a general understanding of business and core business processes.
  • 7+ years of project or program management experience, with 7+ years of portfolio management considered an asset, and cross‑functional business experience—ideally across multiple companies—given the breadth and depth of OLG’s enterprise‑wide portfolio.

  • Comfort working across multiple areas and levels of seniority at OLG, with the ability to understand diverse business needs and goals.
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to build consensus, especially with senior leaders.
  • Able to absorb and understand a significant amount of detail while also pulling it together into a clear big‑picture view of the portfolio and its contribution to business needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, using clear and creative approaches to convey information effectively.
