Student Success Coach, Academic and Career Services *Term*

Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one coaching in person at the Student Services Centre and via video conferencing software. Coaching includes supporting undergraduate students with university life, such as developing research skills, using the library, scheduling, understanding assignment guidelines, and accessing campus resources like tutoring and other support services.
- Provide front desk coverage for the Student Services front desk, including answering student questions, directing inquiries, and assisting students with check-in for drop-ins and appointments using the kiosk.
- Create engaging social media content (e.g., informational posts, videos, & graphics) for the departmental social media accounts.
- Participate in Study Skills presentations and other events as needed.
- Host drop-in coaching sessions to connect with students seeking academic support.
- Assist with Academic & Career Services office duties and programming as required.
- Provide research support to Student Success Advisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to confidentiality policies as set out by The University of Winnipeg and under FIPPA.
Note: Hours are flexible and scheduled around classes. Coaches typically work up to 6 hours per week, with actual hours varying based on program demand.
Qualifications:
- Must currently be a full-time undergraduate student (enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours per term) at The University of Winnipeg, with at least 45 credit hours completed.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and a record of strong study habits.
- Demonstrated ability to assist peers in developing study skills, including:

- Using time management tools
- Creating study plans
- Setting goals
- Strong oral and written communication skills to explain concepts and procedures clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to encourage and support students, listen actively, and identify both opportunities and challenges.
- Cultural competence and sensitivity when interacting with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Availability from October 1, 2025 until May 1, 2026.
An equivalent combination of education, experience, skills, knowledge and abilities may be considered.
Condition(s) of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Must be available to work variable hours between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
