Position Overview Catalyst Engineering is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Designer to support a wide range of municipal infrastructure, transportation, and land development projects. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in technical design, project coordination, procurement, and construction support. This role offers exceptional exposure to both engineering and project management and is ideal for someone who wants to become a well-rounded engineer and future Project Manager. What You’ll Do Design & Drafting Prepare design drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D Design water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and roadway infrastructure Develop grading plans, stormwater management plans, and erosion and sediment control plans Perform engineering calculations and quantity take-offs Prepare record drawings and cost estimates Project Management & Coordination Support scope, schedule, and budget management Prepare tender and procurement documents Attend client and consultant meetings Prepare meeting agendas and minutes Coordinate with regulators, contractors, and subconsultants Conduct site inspections and prepare field reports What You’ll Gain By joining Catalyst, you will: Work directly with experienced Project Managers and Principals Gain broad exposure to design, approvals, and construction Build strong technical and project management skills Develop relationships with municipal and industry clients Take on increasing responsibility as your skills grow Fast-track your progression toward Project Manager and future leadership roles Qualifications Education Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution Professional Registration Registered or eligible to register as: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC, or AScT with ASTTBC Experience Approximately 2+ years of municipal infrastructure, land development, or civil design experience Technical Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple assignments in a collaborative environment Additional Requirements Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence Access to a personal vehicle for occasional site visits Working Conditions This is a fully remote position based in the Metro Vancouver region. Occasional site visits, field inspections, and in-person meetings will be required. Flexible working hours are provided to support productivity and work-life balance.
