Come work as Psychiatrist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

Richmond Hospital Department of Psychiatry is currently seeking a psychiatrist to join in a Permanent position to fill two part time positions in hospital. Position to start immediately.

  • Richmond Adult Mental Health Team (0.5 FTE position): based in the community, provides longer‑term management of serious and persistent mental health conditions requiring an interdisciplinary treatment team. Referrals come from Family Physicians, the Emergency Department, and the In‑Patient Unit.
  • Richmond Hospital In‑Patient Service (0.5 FTE position): based at Richmond Hospital, provides services to admitted in‑patients. The Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric assessment and treatment to patients admitted in medical and surgical wards, do consults in the Emergency Department and liaise with the primary care team for integrated patient care.

Richmond Hospital is a fully accredited, 228‑bed acute‑care facility serving a local population of 200,000 with an additional catchment area of almost 120,000. The hospital is focused on meeting community needs and is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide services to an adult population in a team‑based model.

Richmond is the fourth‑most‑populous and fast‑growing municipality in Metro Vancouver. Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is planning a campus‑wide expansion and renewal, with a new acute‑care tower targeted for completion in 2029.

Qualifications

Education, Licensing, & Experience:

  • Current College of Physicians‑of‑BC (CPSBC) – Full
  • Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) – Eligible
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – Mandatory
