About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for daily pre and post trip inspections of trucks assigned
- Complete daily routes assigned by the scheduling TEAM
- Provide an exceptional on-site service to customers and continuously promote GFL’s service offerings
- Operate a tractor with box trailer / tanker, deliver products, and pick up commercial wastes such as oil filters, Plastics, drums of automotive fluids, as well as other related products.
- Operate other fleet units such as Power Vacs, Wet Vacs, Hydrovacs, Combos, Rolloff trucks, etc.
- Complete service paperwork in accordance with GFL and TDG regulations
- Ensure regular cleaning and maintenance of truck cab, components, and other assigned equipment
- Participate in GFL’s safety programs including safety meetings, last minute risk assessments, and job hazard assessments.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
- AZ Driver’s License with a clean drivers abstract
- Ability to drive manual transmission (Required)
- Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques
- Able to work independently
- Customer service experience
- Self-motivated attitude
- Experience working in a safety sensitive environment
- Ability to work out of town and do potential overnights and weekends
- Must be flexible and dependable
- Strong work ethic
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in difficult situations
- Overtime as required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Manual dexterity, ability to lift 75+ lbs required
- Waste experience is considered an asset
