Job Purpose Join our growing Halifax team and make a meaningful impact on students’ lives as a leader within our Career Colleges and English Language direct-to-student teams! We’re seeking a results-driven professional with knowledge of the Canadian Career College and higher education recruitment landscape, someone who thrives on building relationships, leading teams, and achieving outstanding results.

Based on the Halifax campus, and reporting remotely to the Senior Vice President, Canada with dotted line reporting to the Director of Growth Marketing, the Manager of Recruitment & Community Outreach will lead direct-to-consumer (DTC) recruitment efforts and activity to help meet sales targets for our growing Halifax Career Colleges campus through high-quality support, expert knowledge of our programs, strong domestic recruitment techniques, and excellent customer service. This involves developing strategies to build our Halifax campus domestic student pipeline in partnership with the marketing team, nurturing student leads through phone calls, emails, and in-person campus tours, community outreach, career fairs, sourcing out and attending relevant events, and leading all recruitment activities for Halifax, and supporting efforts across Canada for English programs.

In addition, the Manager of Recruitment & Community Outreach will also lead direct-to-consumer (DTC) recruitment efforts for our Canadian English Schools in Vancouver, Toronto, and Halifax.

This role is ideal for an energetic, data-driven professional who loves connecting with people, leading with purpose, and turning opportunities into measurable success.

Main Duties And Responsibilities Recruitment Strategy and Delivery

  • Deliver on student recruitment targets set out in the budgets. Develop and implement domestic recruitment strategies for Oxford International Career Colleges (OICC) Halifax campus
  • Build an understand and report on where we are losing students in the recruitment process
  • Develop strong international and domestic recruitment strategies for our 3 Canadian English Schools delivering on revenue targets set out in the budget
  • Plan and deliver creative, effective, and budget-conscious recruitment activities
  • Attend to student appointments/bookings within a reasonable timeframe and commit to moving the student further down the funnel
  • Build a deep understanding of OICC and ESL Halifax programs, student personas, pricing, scholarships, and the competitive market

Community and Outreach

  • Build and maintain relationships with local high school counsellors, settlement and employment organizations, immigration advisors, and local communities
  • Represent Oxford International at community events, career fairs, and high schools across Halifax
  • Identify and promote local, provincial, and federal funding or scholarship opportunities for students

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and support the DTC (direct-to-consumer) recruitment team across Halifax and Vancouver. Maintain day to day accountability and ownership of student recruitment targets working closely with other stakeholders
  • Foster a warm, student-centred culture focused on integrity, care, and conversion excellence
  • Set clear goals and provide coaching to help team members meet and exceed performance targets

Collaboration and Reporting

  • Partner closely with marketing, admissions, and operations to ensure a seamless student journey from inquiry to enrolment
  • Be an integral and central part of the Canada team across marketing, recruitment, admissions, operations, and school staff to ensure a smooth student experience from enquiry and application to enrolment.
  • Track leads, applications, and conversions using CRM tools (HubSpot)
  • Analyze trends and performance data to refine recruitment strategies and inform future planning

Person Specification

  • A seasoned recruiter with significant experience in Canadian higher education or Career College recruitment, where employment outcomes and career readiness are top priorities
  • Well-connected within the Nova Scotia area, with established relationships among high school career counsellors, settlement agencies, employment centres, and community organizations
  • Motivated, flexible, and solution-oriented – you respond positively to new challenges and bring creative ideas to your work
  • Data-driven and strategic, with a passion for achieving and exceeding targets
  • Tech-savvy and proficient in CRM tools (preferably HubSpot)
  • A supportive leader who leads in empathy, drives results through accountability, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • A confident communicator with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • It would be an asset if you have proficiency in languages such as Spanish, Portuguese, Hindi, Tagalog, or Korean
