We are a specialty service, truck carrier located in Delta, B.C. who provides general cargo, refrigerated and bulk commodity transportation throughout the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, and Washington State. We are a busy and growing company and provide excellent service to all our customers – and our team makes this happen! From Truck Drivers to Accounts Receivable, our dynamic and supportive team carries out Aquatrans’ success.

What You’ll Do

As our Logistics Administrator, you will have the opportunity to use your familiarity with computers, software, data entry and administrative skills to assist with our logistics team with dispatching responsibilities and customer rating and billing. Other requirements will include troubleshooting of logistic and accounting related issues, use of databases and computer software and the ability to offer excellent customer service while working in a fast-paced, team environment. The role includes learning how to best provide support in a fast paced, high call volume office environment and will assist in completing operational and data entry tasks as necessary in a timely an accurate manner. This position is a valuable learning opportunity and offers an excellent opportunity to advance within Aquatrans.

You will:

  • Maintain internal, manual, or computerized record-keeping systems

  • Determine method of shipment and arrange shipping; prepare bills of lading, customs forms, invoices, and other shipping documents manually or by computer

  • Learn how to schedule and dispatch trucks and trailers with goal to book the timeliest service possible

  • Schedule and dispatch workers using company communication systems

  • Relay work orders, messages, and information to or from drivers and field inspectors using telephones or two-way radios

  • Track shipments from pickup through delivery for accurate, up-to-date information can be provided regarding any shipment

  • Oversee all communications within specifically assigned territories

  • Advise personnel about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards

  • Receive and process transportation requirement requests from customers

  • Adhere to corporate and departmental policies and procedures

  • Performs other duties as required

  • Data entry into database

  • Checking records for duplication

  • Clerical tasks as assigned

  • Perform basic management of electronic files (e.g., print, copy, and transfer)

  • Access information from a computer and/or maintain a computer database

  • Perform general office duties such as photocopying, faxing, and binding

  • Report discrepancies to immediate supervisor.

  • Performs other duties as required

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • Performs other duties as required
  • A Highschool diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of experience in logistics an asset
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting an asset
  • Experience with accounting software, specifically Simply Accounting an asset
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and be flexible
  • High attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Solid understanding of accounting concepts
  • Flexibility – ability to deal with unexpected challenges and changes
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Basic knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Ability to perform moderate to complex account reconciliations
