Wood is recruiting for a Pipeline Engineer in Training (EIT) to support its Projects Canada portfolio. This opportunity is hybrid and based in Calgary, AB. EITs will work within multidisciplinary engineering teams across multiple projects, gaining hands-on experience and professional development while progressing toward registration as a Professional Engineer. Candidates finishing in 2026 summer are encouraged to apply!

The Role
The Pipeline Engineer in Training will support FEED and detailed engineering activities across a range of projects within Projects Canada. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, the role will involve applying engineering fundamentals, learning industry codes and standards, and contributing to engineering deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.

Understand Canadian Codes and Standards and adapt in detailed engineering work

Pipeline wall thickness calculations, Buoyancy control calculations and hydrotest calculations under guidance of a senior Pipeline Engineer

Review pipeline drawings and markup

Development of datasheets, lists, etc.

Preparation of material requisitions for pipes, valves, fittings, flanges, bends, etc.

Prepare Technical Bid evaluation from the vendor proposals.

Originate engineering reports

Review Vendor documents

Expected:

Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering

Eligibility for registration with APEGA as an Engineer in Training (EIT)
-
Willing to learn and positive attitude to accept challenges
-
Previous industrial or EPC experience in Canada or the United States (including internships or summer roles) is desirable
-
Strong organizational and communication skills
-
Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application
