Reporting to the Director,Sales & Operations Planning, the Senior Demand Planner will support our sales growth by articulating demand requirements to ensure availability of the right product at the right time, with heavy emphasis on a sense of urgency, internal collaboration, data interpretation and analysis. The Senior Demand Planner contributes to the delivery of a robust S&OP/IBP process which include, but are not limited to, creating and maintaining forecast models, collaborating with the business intelligence team, partner with supply planning, gather information from sales, brand, finance and other internal and external sources.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Initiate and develop strong relationships with cross functional teams in order to build intimate knowledge of the business and be seen as a trusted partner to the Commercial Teams.

Lead/Facilitate Commercial Demand Reviews; provide insightful, fact-based recommendations to influence forecast adjustments as needed.

Partner with commercial, supply chain, operations, finance and PD team to understand forecast assumptions and building blocks
-
Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with commercial, PD, supply chain, master data and finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts

Develop independent demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons using various demand signals from internal and external sources

Oversee channel specific demand planning and new product reporting

Review historical sales trends, industry size and share of market and understand impact to the demand plan.

Leverage statistical forecasting in the Demand Planning tool (Maestro). Gather/analyze and validate data, execute statistical modeling, review resulting statistical forecast model, apply error analysis techniques to improve forecasting, summarize/aggregate statistical forecasts

Research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, forecast models, and evaluate forecast results and identify anomalies

Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and brand assumptions

Monitor KPIs (forecast accuracy, bias& demand plan attainment) , providing insights and driving action plans to improve key performance metrics

Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product runouts

Maintain close communication with Supply Planning to align on customer action plans and ensure operational readiness
KNOWELDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Advance working knowledge of Excel Power Query, Power Pivot, and Power BI

Working knowledge of statistical forecasting systems is an asset
-
Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts

Demonstrated knowledge of S&OP/IBP Business Planning Methodology
-
Broad knowledge and excellent understanding of a range of business intelligence concepts and common business functions and practices, including but not limited to master data, inventory management, production planning, product cost/margins, and reporting
-
Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt; maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while working with complex data in an environment of ever-changing deadlines, priorities and requirements

Strong analytical, organizational, decision making, and presentation skills and a continuous improvement mindset

Strong facilitation skills are required

Strong interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the forecast process

Self-motivated, solid time management
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
-
5+ years of experience in a similar role within a global growth-oriented environment
-
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Economics, Marketing or relevant discipline
-
Experience using ERP systems – Sage, SAP, JDE, Kinaxis or Oracle Demand Planning or other software related to demand planning
