About the Role
As a Winery Host, you will be the first point of contact for guests, setting the tone for their experience at our vineyard. Your role will involve greeting guests warmly, managing reservations, assisting with tastings, and supporting sales efforts. This position requires strong communication skills, an engaging personality, and a keen interest in wine.
This is a seasonal position, running to mid-October 2025.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a warm welcome to all guests, ensuring a friendly and engaging tasting experience.
- Manage client arrivals and departures, ensuring smooth seating and reservation flow.
- Provide first-time visitors with an introduction to the Tinhorn Creek brand and invite them to enjoy a tasting experience.
- Assist with clearing and resetting tables, restocking products, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Help guests with packaging wine purchases, organizing shipments, and providing information on gift sets and accessories.
- Work towards both team and individual sales goals on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Perform opening and closing duties as required.
- Assess guest concerns and escalate any issues to a manager when necessary.
- Assist with daily opening and closing duties, maintaining a clean and organized tasting area.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a winery or restaurant setting is an asset.
- A passion for providing excellent hospitality and customer service.
- Excellent communication, listening, and storytelling skills.
- Enthusiasm for wine and the ability to create a fun, engaging guest experience.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada without restriction.
Work Environment
- A mix of indoor and outdoor work, often in warm summer temperatures (up to 40°C).
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (cases of wine) and stand for extended periods.
- Requires climbing small sets of stairs, bending, and stooping as needed.
- A fast-paced environment, especially during peak season.

- Competitive hourly rate ($17-18.50/per hour) plus gratuities and commission on wine sales and wine club signups
