JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Production Supervisor
Replacement or New Role: Replacement
Term: Full Time Permanent
Reports to: Plant Manager
Direct Reports: 35-45
Hiring Range: $65,000-$73,000
Bonus: Yes

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively lead, coach, guide teams of 45-50 employees in partnership with Lead hands to achieve production targets within Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
- Proactively performance manage employees to ensure accountability of high standards for Safety, Quality, Attendance and Reliability in alignment with standardized KPIs
- Conduct performance and coaching discussions including performance reviews
- Identify, lead, and support continuous improvement opportunities in process, equipment, and systems
- Ensure your team is trained, qualified and certified to operate their respective equipment
- Schedule teams for maximum effectiveness
- Identify and manage direct labor staffing levels to meet production requirements
- Facilitate departmentally and shift change communications
- Responsible for time and attendance management for team
- Ensure that all staff have been trained and are knowledgeable of procedures and competent in their current roles
- Knowledgeable in all transactions in SAP relating to production
- Responsible for tracking of KPI’s relating to production
- Staff development, providing direction, guidance and monitoring
- Monitor compliance to procedures and review non-conformance issues with Staff
- Ensure that all employees are aware of possible hazards in the workplace, and ensure proper procedures are followed while work is being carried out
- Report and investigate all accidents/incidents and near misses resulting in personal injury and or property damage
- Document and report all accidents to meet WSIB requirements and time constraints
- Must be willing to work as a team and work closely with the Management team and Plant Manager
REQUIREMENTS

Post Secondary education or equivalent work experience preferred
-
Minimum 5-7 years experience as a supervisor in a production or manufacturing environment
-
Proven working experience as a supervisor and leading a large team (30-45 employees)
-
Experience working with HRIS system i.e.: UKG processing timecards and vacation requests. Proven experience staffing a team to required headcount.
-
Experience with SAP would be considered an asset
-
Familiarity with progressive production practices and methods
-
General Knowledge of production systems and operational methods
-
Experience with lean and continuous improvements is an asset
-
Strong accountability and follow-through skills
-
Process driven with the ability to follow and understand policies at all times
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
-
Experience as a change leader and pushing change and new procedures and policies
-
Ability to work under pressure and tight schedules
-
Superior Communication both verbal and written
-
Ability to encourage and build team spirit among team members, bringing about mutual respect and cooperation, building trust with employees and strong relationships

Ability to identify new opportunities
-
Ability to develop specific plans and goals to help in accomplishing tasks efficiently

Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to make the best decision in solving problems

Must be able to work both shifts and overtime on weekends in the event of vacation coverage or shift changes.
